Hold Fast by Mercy Me

To everyone who's hurting
To those who've had enough
To all the undeserving
That should cover all of us
Please do not let go
I promise there is hope

Hold fast
Help is on the way
Hold fast
He's come to save the day
What I've learned in my life
One thing greater than my strife
Is His grasp
So hold fast

Will this season ever pass?
Can we stop this ride?
Will we see the sun at last?
Or could this be our lot in life?
Please do not let go
I promise you there's hope

You may think you're all alone
And there's no way that anyone could know
What you're going through
But if you only hear one thing
Just understand that we are all the same
Searching for the truth
The truth of what we're soon to face
Unless someone comes to take our place
Is there anyone?
All we want is to be free
Free from our captivity, Lord
Here He comes

Hold fast
Help is on the way
Hold fast
He's come to save the day
What I've learned in my life
One thing greater than my strife
Is His grasp
So hold fast

I believe when we get to Heaven, God will show us the answers to all the many questions we have had on earth. I am sure it will all make sense, and we will see the entire picture. This means that my brother, Jeff, now knows the reasons that our family has endured so much these last few years. He has seen the end of the road and knows how the plan is weaved together. I know that if Jeff can, he is advocating on our behalf. He very well could have walked side by side with Jesus and asked for His watchful eye on us. If Jeff could, I think he would tell us to hold fast because help is on the way.

Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.

Family Update:

Everyone is doing well. We will be getting together tomorrow for my dad's birthday. Emily is getting so big, and is starting to smile and make all her little noises. Olivia loves her baby sister. Gwen and the kids have been staying busy with different activities. My dad spent the night with Josh and Nathan Friday night. They built a tent in the basement and had a campout. Tommy and Jenn took the girls to a Holiday Inn to have their own sleepover and go swimming. Last weekend, my dad took Kaylee and Tommy took Olivia to a princess ball put on by the city. The girls got to dress up and they ate dinner and danced and even got their picture taken. Mike is back to working out of town some weeks and in town others. I am thankful that he is home more often than last year. Brian is staying busy with work also. Our family could really still use prayer for God's intercession in certain areas. Our Savior can move mountains, and even though sometimes we feel like that is what we are praying for, nothing is too big for Him. I have a follow-up doctor appointment on March 5. My oncologist transferred to Maine last October, so I will be meeting my new doctor. It will be 1 year since completing chemotherapy and 6 months since completing my secondary treatments. My health has been good since. I am still on a daily dose of tamoxifen, which I will continue to take for 4 more years. Most recurrences happen within 5 years, so I will be watched closely until then. While I truly believe that God healed me, I know that I am still human and still have fears of it returning. I have promised to walk through the valley as long as He calls me to do so, and my life is in His hands. Please continue to keep us all in your prayers.

I am so thankful to those who still check this site. I am so sorry that it has been awhile since my last post. I know everyone has been awaiting news on how Gwen and the kids have been doing, as well as the rest of my family. We are a tight family, and nothing will take that away. What Satan means for harm, God can use for good. We are a family who believes that.

I will take some updated pictures tomorrow at our family get together and will post shortly so you can see how big the kids are getting!!

God bless.

Amy
